A multi-faceted role for a highly-motivated individual with a drive to learn and a focus on delivery excellence to join Cantarus, a world-leader – four-time global DNN Partner of the Year – in enterprise websites, web applications and infrastructure to support and maintain our infrastructure and build new environments for clients. We host for many large organisations including Worldpay, Institute of Directors and Stroke Association so the environments tend to be complex with functionality including real-time off-site synchronisation for datacentre-level fail-over, web farm architectures and clustering.
We have expanded our support team from one to four dedicated personnel over the last year and are looking to add specialist infrastructure expertise. The role is multi-disciplinary covering VMware, servers, networking and firewalls, so requires a flexible person able to learn quickly and adapt as required coupled with good written and verbal communication skills.

Working Hours: 37.5 hours per week (willingness for out-of-hours working essential for role)
Salary: Negotiable based on skills/experience
Location: Manchester (working at client sites may be required)
Holiday: 25 Days per annum

- Providing quality technical support as a key infrastructure contact for our clients and the Cantarus team.
- Managing and maintaining Cantarus’ private cloud, firewall, Linux and Microsoft Windows servers.
- Occasional working on-site with clients to assist with installations, etc.
- Liaising with service providers to maintain service levels.
- Writing technical blogs for www.cantarus.com and potentially for publication on third-party sites.
- Identifying opportunities for business process and systems enhancements and improvements.
Although it is are that we receive emergency out-of-hours support calls, the candidate must be prepared to handle such incidents on a paid basis.

Applicants must have permanent UK residency and a full UK driving license.
Experience Required: 3+ years experience dealing with similar technologies.
Qualifications: N/A but skills essential
Required Skills: The candidate must be skilled in at least 3 of the following:
- VMware vSphere (v5 onwards)
- Microsoft Windows 2008 onwards inc. AD, DNS, GPO, etc.
- Dell servers and SANs
- Infrastructure support
- Excellent written and spoken English.
