University Student Placements

We welcome applications from university students for their industrial/work placement years.  We have a history of delivering placements that offer a rare breadth and depth of experience and learning within a supportive and friendly working environment.

Our aim is to help our placement students get the most out of their placement years to best position them for their final year and future employment.  We achieve this by investing our time in them to ensure they become a productive and important part of our team, which of course directly benefits Cantarus as a business too.  By aligning the ultimate goals of the placement student and the business we ensure both benefit.

"My placement year has been incredibly productive in terms of developing my skills and exposing me to a dynamic working environment where I am both supported and trusted to take on important roles within the company.  Cantarus really does place importance on developing me as a person, so much so that they have helped with scoping a final year project for me."
Michael Cundall, student of Computing for Business Applications with Industrial Experience, University of Manchester, 2010

Subject to performance and resourcing demands, we do offer final year sponsorship, part-time/home working and graduate employment positions to placement students.

Graduates

We welcome graduate applications from any university and regularly advertise with the University of Manchester.

Our ideal graduate can demonstrate all-round ability encompossing excellent academic qualifications, practical workplace skills such as working in a team, communicating effectively and managing their time efficiently.  The candidate should be keen to learn and able to adapt quickly to the changing need of our clients.

Experienced Hires

Cantarus are always open to applications from first class software developers and technical consultants.

Excellent academic and/or professional qualifications are required, though this is a complement to, rather than a substitute for, a sustained and proven record in the IT/Consultancy industry.

You will be a team player with the ability to lead where skills and circumstances dictate.  Where your role is likely to include client-facing responsiblities you will present a professional corporate front to the client and have excellent communication and presentation skills - your ability to interact with our clients is key to a successful application and our commercial success.

As someone who will take critical roles in helping us deliver on time and within budget to our clients you will be organised, committed and able to manage yourself and others as necessary.

Speaking a language or languages other than English is an advantage, but is not essential.
