Cantarus Ltd. was established in 2003 by a team of senior consultants from two of the 'big five' IT consultancies and was originally based in Liverpool.  In excess of fifty years cutting-edge industry experience leading and delivering successful IT projects for the likes of De Beers, United Utilities, EDF Energy, Fortis Bank, HMRC and the RAF resulted in a company with an unusually broad and deep skills base.  In fact, the quality of the Cantarus team was demonstrated when the company won the much-coveted Business Link Celebration of Success Award in 2005.

During the first years of the company, Cantarus focussed on web technologies, bespoke development, consultancy and security.  Those core services continue to this day, though the evolution, verging on revolution, of the technologies used to deliver them means that in practice they are quite different.

Cantarus continued to remain at the forefront of the industry by forging strategic and technological partnerships with industry leaders including the likes of Acronis, Dell, DotNetNuke, Microsoft, Sage, SonicWALL and VMware.  A reputation of innovation and successful project delivery saw Cantarus continue to build it's client base to include leading organisations such as Barclays Bank, Sport England, Futaba Industrial, Capita, Hogg Robinson Group and United Utilities.

In 2009 Cantarus moved to new offices in Northwich, Cheshire.
