Cantarus is thrilled to be partnering with InnovateHer to help attract more women into technical roles within the business.
InnovateHer is an organisation that provides free technology teaching in schools for girls aged 11-16, and assists companies with recruiting women into careers in tech. Their mission is to help make the tech sector more gender-inclusive and diverse, which in turn will increase innovation and create opportunities for future generations.
This partnership will see a shift to a more inclusive workplace in which women can prosper. Cantarus is delighted to be part of improving equality and diversity in the industry and addressing the digital skills gap. Young women are rarely encouraged to pursue careers in STEM (science, technology, engineering, and mathematics), so Cantarus looks forward to helping change this.
Lee Adams, CEO of Cantarus, comments:
“Without access to a diverse talent pool, Cantarus would be a substantially smaller, less profitable and less capable organisation than it is today. We benefit from team members from multiple countries around the world, and collectively our team of circa forty can speak more than a dozen languages fluently.
However, there is still work to do and our partnership with InnovateHer will help us to ensure we can attract and retain the best female talent in the tech industry; this is something that we see as both a matter of corporate social responsibility and an opportunity to build a stronger, more competitive business.”
Only 19% of the digital tech workforce in the UK is female, in comparison to 37% across all other sectors. InnovateHer works alongside companies like Cantarus to progress diversity and inclusion together.
Chelsea Slater, Co-Founder and Director of InnovateHer, comments:
"InnovateHer are thrilled to see more Manchester businesses like Cantarus join our network, committing to make their workplaces more diverse. It's important for not only our organisation, but the wider women in tech and STEM community that forward-thinking companies get involved in the conversation. We're really looking forward to making a difference with Cantarus for women over the next year."
