The Designer role is an important part of the team. You’ll have a few years of experience learning your craft and contributing towards great design solutions. Designers should have a strong work ethic and an eagerness to learn new things. You’ll be comfortable using all of the standard design tools and will be able to create appropriate design solutions for our clients independently. Often you will be working alongside a more senior designer, supporting them to deliver large and complex projects. It’s also important to take responsibility over small to medium-sized projects, managing your time and creating work that is visually strong and commercially viable.

Your Role

  • Collaborate with senior designers to deliver complex client projects.
  • Support the wider design team with in-group critique sessions.
  • Offer advice, feedback and guidance to Junior Designers.
  • Able to work on tasks independently, having responsibility for multiple small to medium projects, ensuring deadlines are met and briefs are answered.
  • A good understanding of responsive design, and creating multi-devices experiences.
  • A good understanding of branding. Able to apply an existing brand identity consistently and effectively across a range of media, adapting it where necessary.
  • A good understanding of User Experience and User-Centric Design.
  • Able to support our app and community products.
  • Produce wireframes and prototypes for complex design solutions.
  • Articulate your ideas confidently.
  • Attend client meetings to present your work and make recommendations.
  • Work with designers, developers, and project managers within tight timeframes, producing high-quality and commercially viable design solutions.
  • Strong typography, layout and composition skills.
  • Managing file and folder structures, ensuring teammates are able to collaborate with you efficiently.

Preferred Experience

  • At least 2 years experience, preferably from an agency background but not essential.
  • A passion for all things design, with a focus on digital.
  • A high-quality, and varied portfolio of relevant work examples.
  • Strong and confident using the Adobe Creative Suite.
  • Interested in user behaviour, what makes people tick.
  • A strong work ethic, willing to learn and try new things.
  • Familiar with design systems and component libraries.
  • Basic knowledge of After Effects or similar to bring ideas to life.
