At Cantarus, we’re proud to not just work with Umbraco – we help shape its future. As a long-standing Platinum Partner and the first agency to hold dual Transatlantic Platinum status, our commitment to the Umbraco ecosystem goes far beyond implementation. It’s about advocacy, innovation, and community leadership.
We’re proud to share that three of our team members now sit on key Umbraco Advisory Councils, helping guide the direction and evolution of the platform:
Grey Muir – Umbraco Orchestration Advisory Board
Grey is contributing to the critical conversation around orchestration, deployment, and DevOps tooling. The board is tasked with aligning Umbraco's roadmap with real-world developer needs – driving forward automation, scalability, and continuous integration best practices.
More about the Orchestration Board
Jon Whitter – Umbraco Cloud Advisory Board
Jon brings deep platform experience to this newly established council, offering insight on everything from performance to governance. The group plays a pivotal role in steering the future of Umbraco Cloud – from continuous improvement to major innovation.
Helen Chaplin – Umbraco Sustainability Team
Helen is working closely with the new sustainability taskforce to ensure Umbraco takes a proactive approach to environmental responsibility. With a mission to reduce digital carbon footprints and champion best practice, Helen is one of the voices shaping a more sustainable future for open-source tech.
We’re honoured to once again be speaking at Codegarden 2025, the flagship event for the Umbraco community. This year, we’re also proud to be shortlisted for a 2025 Umbraco Award in the 'Best Designed Site' category for our work with the British Army.
This follows the platform’s recent Communicator Award for Excellence, recognised in the 'Best Website within Government/Public Sector' category by the Academy of Interactive & Visual Arts. The site has been praised for its accessibility, immersive design, and ability to connect with users on a deeper level – telling the Army’s story with greater clarity and impact.
As the Army themselves shared:
“The new, accessible, and more immersive site, created with agency partner Cantarus, is proving to meet our visitor needs and tell the Army's story better than ever before.”
And if you're heading to Codegarden, don’t miss Jon Whitter (Cantarus) and Phil Whittaker as they host a hands-on workshop:
“Harnessing Umbraco Engage: A Tailored Content Experience” – taking place at Coworking Plus on Tuesday.
Together, they’ll explore how to create smarter, more personalised content experiences using Umbraco Engage.
These advisory board positions are more than a badge of honour. They’re a reflection of our shared commitment to growing a platform that’s secure, scalable, sustainable, and community-driven. Being trusted to help steer Umbraco’s future from the inside is a responsibility we don’t take lightly.
Whether it’s contributing to platform sustainability, shaping product roadmaps, or showcasing real-world innovation, Cantarus continues to lead with purpose in the Umbraco space.
